Why are the numbers so confusing? (numbers are changed around for this to protect personal data)
Description | Amount |
---|---|
Available Funds for Trading | $9000 |
Cash & Sweep Vehicle | $2000 |
Cash Balance | $0 |
Day Trading Buying Power | $27000 |
Long Marginable Value | $16000 |
Maintenance Requirement | $5000 |
Margin Balance | $2000 |
Margin Equity | $17000 |
Net Liquidating Value | $17000 |
Option Buying Power | $10000 |
Stock Buying Power | $20000 |
From my understanding (for this example) I have $17000 balance of actual money. Which makes sense based on the balance I transferred in and the amount I've gained so far.
Why is my DTBP so high? Why is my Long Marginable Value less than Margin Equity?
Why is Margin Equity the same as Net Liquidating Value?
Why is Stock Buying Power so high but Option Buying Power is lower?
How come my margin balance is $2000, but on the actual website, it says $0 and my "Cash and Cash Alternatives" is $2000?
If someone could explain what these mean and why the numbers are so different it'd help a lot!
