Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but my wife and I currently bank with Bankmobile Vibe and have had a major issue this whole weekend and today.
Bankmobile informed it's users that they would be conducting a system upgrade during the times of 12:00 am, June 2nd to 9:00 am, June 5th and that the site/app would not be accessible to check our account balance or transaction history during that time, but we could still use our debit cards for transactions and ATM withdrawls. We keep a written record of all our transaction and balance, so it wasn't a terrible inconvenience to us. The problem is that during this whole time the site has been down for maintenance, we have been unable to use our debit cards in any way.
When we were buying groceries on Sunday (Total: $126.74) I ran my card as credit and it only removed a partial amount of $16.56. This is odd to me since a credit transaction never takes a partial amount, unless the stores system can pre-authorize a certain amount by the cashier; which they did not do. So I tried to run the card again, it came up as "Unauthorized Tender: Card Declined". My wife tried her card, same message. I panicked, thinking that something happened to the account that left us with only 16.56 in the account and went to the ATM in the store to check the balance. I requested a balance inquiry and it printed a receipt with "Authorizer Unavailable", same message for my wife's account. We asked the store to void the transaction and we will try to pull cash out at another ATM. We went to another ATM down the road, same message for both of us. I finally was able to try the ATM by our house and it gave me an available balance: $1837.06; $16.56 less than what I had written as my current balance. So I went ahead and tried to pull cash out to at least give us some emergency money, the "Authorizer Unavailable" message came up again...
We decided to admit defeat and go home and wait for the site to come back up this morning like they said it would. 9:00 am came and went, no access. They updated the message on the Bankmobile site that it would be completed and back up by June 5th, 12:00pm ET. Again, no access. At 4:00pm ET, we contact the customer service department and they inform us that they have no current ETA on when people can access their account balances and history, but cards transactions are working. We explain to them the incident we had yesterday and the rep said, "Oh, well it should be working now."
So we ask for a balance inquiry from the rep to confirm the ATM balance, she tells us there is "128.98" in the account...what?? I explain to her the recent transactions and balance I had in my record and she simply says, "I may not have updated on my side yet. We may be able to correct it tomorrow morning." I decide to go to the gas station and see if I can try 10.00 in gas, just to see if the card works. Again, it's declined.
I checked the Bankmobile Facebook page and several people have been unable to access their accounts or use their credit cards. The bank will not allow me any access to my funds and is not giving anyone a straight answer on when the situation would be resolved.
What can we do? I can't touch my money in the account and Bankmobile is not giving us any info on when we can access the account. Any help is appreciated.
