Background: I'm 24 and graduated with a BA in biology in December 2015. I'm currently trying to get accepted to a medical or PA school, but I'm severely underemployed and interested in finding a job or internship in another field in case these plans ultimately don't work out. I've heard that many places in fields like finance, business, and analytics like to hire people with hard science degrees, though my background is in healthcare and scientific research (lots of data collection and analysis).
Are there any courses or certifications for those fields I can take online to improve my chances of success? To supplement my lack of experience I'm currently learning Spanish and Russian (my SO is fluent in both which makes it faster) as well as German, and hope to be proficient in those languages in a year. I've also done a very small amount with coding but not a lot.
The idea is to gain some of these and present them to an employer at a job fair with my degree, as I believe I'll have more luck talking to them in person.
