Hi guys. Total newbie at DIY. Have a few specific questions:1) I have a few holes (here and here) in my wall that I'd like to fill (to keep roaches out). Two of the holes have cables running through them, so what ways could I plug these holes but still have the cables able to pass? Note: the cables will have to stay in place during whatever filling method—I can't take them out and re-thread them.2) What's the best way to seal the gap between pipes and my wall? Just squirt a bunch of caulk in there? Should I then caulk the metal disc/cover thingie to the wall as well?3) I have a couple light sockets and a couple power sockets like this. First question: is it safe for me to work on these with power still running in my apartment, or should I go to the fuse box and trip everything off first? Second question: for ones like this, how do I get that nice and tight against the wall again, if there aren't any screws? Should I just caulk it?4) My shower floor is disgusting. Granted that it's actually dirty and needs cleaning, but it's also peeled off a ton. See here and here. How can I fix this up?5) My (big, heavy) closet door has had one of it's two roller thingies fall off. What's the best way to re-attach this? Can I just stand inside the closet and have at it with a drill (I think these are self-tapping screws)? If I had to take the door off, I don't know how I'd get it back on again. Also, how do I know where to re-attach the roller thingie, and at what angle/height to make sure the door hangs straight?Thank you! via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2pabPFr
