I have one of those basements that constantly pumps water. Even after 4 weeks of dry weather my sump pump is still going. I am a contractor so the usual things like downspouts and grading is all good. All my downspouts and sump pump lines are buried to the sewer at the street. My issue is the constant on and off of the pump. My idea is to have some kind of small pump that could sit on the bottom of the pit that could run slowly and more quietly that my 3/4 hp pump and raise the level of my large pump up a few inches to only start when the smaller pump can't keep up. Then a few inches higher is my battery backup pump. I have looked around for something like this but other than a bilge pump haven't come up with anything. Does anyone have an idea or seen a pump that would do what I wish to accomplish or is this just a waste of time? Thanks in advance. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2q56Y8C
