I'm looking for a broker with access to different markets, especially Forex and stocks (not just CFDs). I live in Europe. A month ago I wanted to open an account with Interactive Brokers, but unfortunately I didn't meet their criteria (my monthly income and capital are too low, not by much though). Is there a way around those silly criteria? Other brokers don't have these criteria.
So I looked for another, and found Saxo Bank. It surprised me that their application process is much simpler than Interactive Brokers, I just needed to upload a scan of my ID card and a proof of residence. It almost made me think that Saxo Bank is less serious than Interactive Brokers, perhaps a silly conclusion, or not? Saxo Bank covers less markets but enough for me. One thing I'd miss is that you can't short shares.
What are your experiences with Saxo Bank?
