I have a coworker who listens to the same extremely shitty music all day and either sings along or spits sunflower seeds into an open container, the sounds of which make me want to get a new job. I dread coming to work because I spend the whole day fixated on the sounds it takes an extreme amount of mental energy not to kick his teeth in.
We used to be able to listen to music on earpods, so I would just drown it out. However those were ruled "unsafe" but there's no rules against wearing hearing protection! I'm currently doubled up, with in-ear plugs and over-ear muffs... It helps a lot, enough that I can do my job, but it's not perfectly quiet and the ear plugs cause a lot of pain after a while.
What are some other products that I can look at that would still meet safety regulations but that would be extremely quiet? Something comfortable and of decent quality that I can wear all day.
