So some context: /r/WallStreetBets keeps diving into AMD. I thought I'd give them a good stock pick and fuck with them at same time.
I shitposted this yesterday as I feel bad for people who keep hopping into AMD http://ift.tt/2p23KpW (they decided to remove my post).
If you had gotten in $FND yesterday, you could have picked up a couple dollars per share. I was trying to post this during todays dip, but it's going back up. It's not near the high from yesterday, so there is still time to pick up $2/share in the next few days as it is trading $2 below yesterdays high of $38.49
As far as DD, Floor & Decor is about to surprise Home Depot & Lowes. They currently have 44 warehouses and are about to grow much quicker. They have sales people. These people will sell the shit out of flooring. And the flooring is top notch. I have real estate in California, Atlanta and abroad, and have been a customer since 2009.
They show some of their flooring in this 2015 video https://youtu.be/LSJ3-dAcWzg?t=34
$FND has warehouses that are bigger than Home Depot & Lowes. They sell to business, consumer and BIY's in home improvement. If I had to make a comparison which might help, $FND is the "Ross" of the home improvement. You know how Ross has like one really nice pair of shoes that you like for an affordable price? That's how $FND sells. They have really short runs of great flooring. Their is a con to this, as you need to buy all of your flooring at once.
So, the construction industry, DIY's, Interior Designers, BIY's use $FND for this reason, instead of Home Depot and Lowes who tend to be more generic.
As far as comparable stocks, the closest would $LL be (in $20s after health-related lawsuit), Home Depot ($155/share), and Lowes ($85/share)
$FND is currently trading at $36.55 when I posted this on WSB. Back up to 36.96.
Disclaimer: I bought 200 shares at IPO at around $29.80 one week ago
On a side note: Why is /r/wallstreetbets so invested in AMD? Are they stupid?
