I'm in MD. She died of a massive heart attack yesterday. I went and got all of the paperwork from her filing cabinet to try and piece together my next steps, but she left no will and I don't know the full extent of her financial situation. I know I need to take legal guardianship somehow. I don't have any family in this country, and the only family we have left in Scotland is very old. My father died the same way eight years ago and I feel very overwhelmed. I could really use some resources or a check list for what to do in this situation if anybody has one. Thank you very much.
