Need Advice- 403B - American Funds - Vanguard - John Hancock I am 32 years old married and have 2 kids and am currently looking into my personal retirement accounts and could use some advice on several aspects. Here we go. I have a retirement account setup with http://ift.tt/1l8XRtf that I have had since 2008. The account has done reasonably well and I contribute to it monthly. http://ift.tt/2qkq11Z. I work for a school district and have a retirement account through http://ift.tt/1L3uOIl which I have deducted from my paycheck automatically. I also have 2 College Savings plans for my kids. 1 with American Funds as well and 1 with John Hancock which I also contribute to monthly. (I did not set these up the grandparents did). I have been working at my job now for 4 years and am looking at possibly adding a 403B as another means of retirement. They have a seminar coming up later this month and I plan to attend. Here is a page that compares the products they offer. http://ift.tt/2qkB770. Here is my list of question. 1) Thoughts on American Funds?? I constantly see post here the point to Vanguard and I am if there is a huge benefit over American Funds. I hear alot about the "Target Retirement Account" that takes little management. American Funds also offers the same thing as well just looking poll your onions. 2) 403B - Is it worth it if the employer is not matching? Am I spreading my funds to thin? What vendor would be best? 3) Kids college Fund - Is there a way I can get these housed under a single company. I do not like having them in two different areas in the chance one does better than the other. I am very new at this and am trying to set these things up earlier rather than later. Thanks in advance. Any input is appreciated.
