My boyfriend has avascular necrosis of the hip, basically where you lose blood to the head of the femur, and the head collapsed early on, so he needs a hip replacement. We are unable to pay for insurance that would cover a full-hip replacement, and I have just recently ventured into researching traveling abroad for the surgery.
I've seen posts on many different types of surgeries received overseas, but none on full-hip replacements.
Has anyone had any experience in this, or heard any stories?
He's been dealing with this for almost 2 years, walks with a cane, and he's only 26. The last thing a doctor told us was "people in third world countries deal with this."
Any information is greatly appreciated!
