LPT: for diy gardening projects, bags of mulch/soil/topsoil are 1/2 off at Home Depot if they're already torn open. If you have a truck, you can usually get that stuff for less than $50/cubic yard if you go local.

Built my mom a standing-height garden bed so she could work without bending down, was out sourcing stuff and found out (FrOm An EmPlOyEe) that the bags are half off when ripped. Pretty good deal, but I went a little further and found that a local place had cubic yards of topsoil, mulch, cement sand (for pavers), and garden soil for $20, $30, $45, and $45 respectively.
