Basically what the title says, but here's a little background. For anonymity, I'm a salaried employee at an auto parts manufacturer in Ohio. (sorry if this is a little scattered, trying to relay all of my thoughts in a manner that makes sense to others isn't the easiest)

I put my two weeks in Friday April 28 with the intentions of my last day being Friday May 10. Today around time to leave, the boss came up and had me finish what I was doing and promptly told me I was being "let go early" and that hr wanted me to go. (She was definitely skewing it towards HR even though I know it was her pushing it, but that's besides the point). I asked if I was still going to be paid for the final days and she said no.

A little more info that might be a slight precursor. I have no vacation time left. Last week I left half a day early Wednesday because I had been sick since Good Friday with maybe a week of feeling "better" in between and still wasn't getting recovering properly (I'm in my early-mid 20s so I would say this isn't normal recovery for me). I went to urgent care later and was thrown on antibiotics and a steroid for bronchitis. I took Thursday and Friday off to recover and let my body do it's thing. This morning, Wednesday 9, I had a physical therapy appointment and didn't make it in until noon (the "hours" for my job are "7-3:30"). Then around 3:30 the boss did her thing.

SO my questions are this: 1. Am I entitled to the final pay for the last 3 days that I won't be there for? (Pay day is Friday too so I would want this mooolah)

  1. Since I was "let go" does that technically mean I was fired? I wasn't given due notice and was terminated without cause. This therefore leaves me unemployed, so would I now be open to unemployment benefits?

TL;DR

*Let go 3 days before 2 weeks were up. *Told I wasn't going to be paid for final 3 days

Questions: 1. Do I march into HR tomorrow (or just call) and tell them to pay me for my final 3 days (payday is Friday)? or 2. Am I entitled to unemployment benefits since I was "let go" meaning I was fired?
