Hello, this is a serious question: is having children worth it, from a financial perspective? My girlfriend and I were discussing it and she says that she never wants to have children because they are not financially profitable.
I believe it costs around $250,000 to raise a child from age 1 to 18. Let's say they send you 10% of what they earn after they get a job, but given that your child may not earn much and that they may cut you off completely after they turn 18 makes this a really risky investment. But every now and then you get a Zuckerberg baby who makes millions you can ride off of.
So, from a financial perspective, is having babies ever worth it?
