Hey guys!
I know getting a good job in your early twenties is hard. Try some skilled labor positions, machining, plumbing, electrician, hvac tech, etc. For every 3 skilled laborers that retire only 1 is added to the workforce, while a lot of people say this is due to automation that's currently not the case. Also the average age of a skilled worker is about 55. With the focus on college degrees for graduating high schoolers the labor pool for skilled labor that should replace all these guys as they retire dried up over the last 20 years or so.
Now that being said, a lot of guys still in the industry need workers and either can't find ones that are responsible or good or (in my company's case) just can't find any. A ton of these guys will train you on the job or pay for your training at a local community college so long as you show up on time, listen, and work hard. Trust me these jobs pay soooooo much better than retail or restaurants and can be stepping stones to paying for a college degree without the need for loans. They just require some elbow grease, learning, and getting dirty from time to time.
I hope this helps some of you guys and gals! (Seriously the ladies I've met in this trade make way better machinists than most dudes)
