This chart from Morningstar shows RFNGX just barely edging out the S&P 500 TR over 5 years. It claims that $10K invested in each grows to $19,192 with RFNGX (91.9% return) and $18,907 with the S&P 500 TR (89.1% return). You can see the webpage that generated the chart here, in case that has relevant information.

This chart from Yahoo stocks shows the opposite. Over the same 5 years, it claims that the S&P 500 TR had a return of 96.4%, while RFNGX had a much, much worse return of only 55.10%. You can see the webpage with the chart here.

What am I missing? Why does Yahoo show a modestly better performance for the S&P 500 than Morningstar does? And more interestingly, why does Yahoo show a massively worse performance for RFNGX?

Why am I getting two very different answers for the same question?
