I'm 27 and have $6000 in the bank and $75k in student loans. I make $61k at my new job, and pay $1100 in rent and utilities. My student loans are over $1000/mo... I think around $1300-1500 (I have them on autopay so i don't remember and also pay for two Parent PLUS loans that my mom took out for me that I don't have the login for).
With my pay being around 5k a month before taxes, this leaves almost no room to save money.
It makes me sick to my stomach. People my age are getting married. I am recently dumped (which is why I moved to such an expensive living situation) and poor and feel hopeless. I can't move in with my parents like so many of the folks who climb out of debt do because there are no career hopes for me there (and nowhere for me to stay( and my equally poor parents can't help.
I feel so much shame and hopelessness.
