I was contacted by a recruiter close to a month ago. A company in my hometown is hiring multiple positions for a mass expansion. I interviewed last week and I believe it went really well. I would be surprised if I didn't receive an offer.

So, its possible I already messed up by telling the recruiter my current salary. I made 75k when she contacted me. She asked what I was looking for and I said 80-85. She repeated and I stated more like 85k.

Within that time frame, I got my yearly raise and I'm now making 78.5k. I'm fairly certain they are going to come back to me with an 80k offer. Realistically, I don't want to switch jobs unless they offer me at least 85k, I'd much prefer around 90k though. I've been in the field 12 years now and I would say I'm underpaid(software engineer), however I live in a low COL area. Another requirement would be at least 4 weeks of vacation. However, I think they are now on the unlimited PTO plan. We didn't discuss any company benefits at the interview.

So PF, how do I diplomatically approach an the offer?
