Since I have opened my brokerage account a couple of years ago, I have elected to reinvest any and all of my dividends. On my last three dividends, 28% of each dividend has been withheld by the IRS. Meaning that only 72% of each dividend is reinvested. The kicker is that I never received anything from the IRS that indicated something like this was going to happen. I have an accountant that I use to file my taxes each year. Any ideas on what's going on or where to start to resolve this?
