A few years back, my now-ex opened up a credit card at Old Navy and listed me as an authorized user. I did not provide any information such as my SSN and I did not have to co-sign, he just listed my name as someone who was able to use the card, and I received my own card.

The relationship was extremely abusive and as such we have since broken up. I kept my card for no reason other than I just did not throw it away. I've tried to use the card in store before and was not authorized, even though the card was not expired, leading me to believe that he did something to remove me as an authorized user.

However, the card is still reporting on my credit and when I look at Credit Karma there is still an account open with Old Navy. He, fortunately, pays the balance every single month, on time, so it has positively affected my credit, but if something ever happens in the future where he does not pay it and it goes delinquent, I don't want it to go on my credit because it is bad enough as it is.

How can I remove this account from my credit report, WITHOUT CONTACTING MY EX? There is no safe way to contact him, period. Do I get in touch with Old Navy and explain the situation with them? Dispute it on my credit report? I know next to nothing about credit and what to do with it but I want to start learning, and I want to start with getting rid of this mess.

Thanks.
