Every year the rent for my apartment goes up roughly $30 with no feasible explanation as to why. Is there a way to keep it from raising again this year?

I live in a very normal 1 bedroom 1 bath apartment. It's in no way a luxury apartment, but it's not a slum either. The only thing my complex does is pay the water bill and obviously repairs as requested. But otherwise I notice no actual reason as to why my rent continues to jump up a rather large sum of money every year.

Is there any legal way to have my complex provide details as to why it goes up or any legitimate way to ask them to not raise it again?
