I'm in a huge dilemna. I want advice from people who work in the industry. Which degree is better for landing a financial analyst job, a BBA in Finance or a Bachelor's in economics? If I decide to major in finance, I will spend more time in college. If I decide to study economics, I will spend less time in college and graduate on time. The economics degree includes about 4 to 6 finance courses such as money and banking and capital markets. How do employers view the two degrees? I hear economics is useless, is this true? Is it worth to spend more time in school for the finance degree if I aspire to become a financial analyst or a business analyst at work? How hard is it for people with economics degree to find work as a financial analyst? Would I be as competitive as someone with a finance degree if I took a few accounting courses in addition to my economics degree? I attend the University of Wisconsin. Please be honest. I need to pick my major soon.
