Hey, I'm just wondering if anyone knows how to get off of this crazy merry go round.
Long story short, ended up having a paid debt sold to collections. Sent proof of payment to the original payee and to the collector to prove "hey, this has been taken care of" and got an ok from both. But the collector calls about once a month still, insisting they don't have any information (I have a paper trail proving otherwise), so I resend the info, they say they're reviewing it.....then a month later rinse, repeat. This feels like it's going to go on forever, and I have no idea how to get them to admit to having everything and stop calling. Does anyone have any experience with this or know the right combination of magic words to send this collection agency back to the underworld from whence it came?
