I have a 2012 Dodge Charger RT and I paid quite a bit to get a lifetime warranty from Dodge. Two weekends ago I took the car in for a warranty repair on the rear axle. While it was in possession of the dealership it was hailed on and damaged to the point where the auto body shop is declaring it totaled (cost to repair is 75% or more of the total value of the car). I want to keep the car with the warranty, what are my options? Does the dealership have any liability for being in possession of the vehicle when damage occurred? If the vehicle is declared a total loss does warranty still apply? What would be the best course of action?
