This will work on any cdma phone that used to use the sprint network. (list at the bottom)
I wanted a cheap plan for ebay, paypal, and icann (internet page registration info) to avoid all of the spam calls (icann info being the worst as it must be viewable to anyone).
I heard from someone here about tello, and it's cheaper than any other plan I have found at only $5 a month for 100 minutes and 200 texts. With google voice, I can use this phone for two phone numbers as long as I have wifi, I won't use the minutes on the second number.
Virgin mobile support is useless, so calling them to get the old phone's info will get you nowhere. What you need to do is get the imei number from the phone info, and the sim card number, which is not so easy to get.
Most virgin mobile phones have a sim card in them, so if you remove it and flip it over, the serial number is laser etched on the back .You'll need a bright flashlight and maybe a magnifying glass to see it.
That's all you need, input the imei and sim numbers when you sign up on the tello site and enjoy $5 a month for phone service.
