I am turning here because its reached a point where I don't know what to do. I woke up 4am in the morning the other day to a knocking at my backyard door, I was seconds away from calling the cops until I realized it was my cousin who I had not seen in over a year. He looked like trash, hair grown out, baggy clothes, eyes red, he was nothing but skin and bones. He started telling me that hes about to be kicked out from his house and doesn't have money or anywhere to go. Regardless of what he said here is the real problems.

  1. His father died when he was young
  2. His mother died in February of 2016
  3. He is a paranoid schizophrenic who refuses to take medicine or acknowledge that he has a problem.
  4. Him and his mother were living in subsidized housing
  5. His mother left him inheritance, I put the value at 10-20k
  6. Ontario housing has said they they are going to move him out of the two bedroom apartment and put him into a one bedroom. They gave him one year from Feb 2016 until he had to move.
  7. He was on disability until he recently told them that he had money in his account from his inheritance, they have since stopped giving him money.

Here are my problems. He struggles to speak properly. I cannot understand anything that he says to me because he is unable to put anything into simple terms. I am not sure if this stems from his schizophrenia or if this has to do with something else. He was never like this as a child btw. He says he has no money but then he tells me that he hasn't spent any of his moms inheritance. He tells me that hes going to be kicked out of the apartment and become homeless but then he also said that they were going to move him to another apartment. Its hard to find out all the information because he can barely speak and I have no clue what to do. He wanted to come and live with me but I have so much on my plate that I had no choice but to turn him away for now. I feel horrible in doing so but I really can't be baby sitting someone who refuses medication.

I need to find a way to get him back on to ODSP (Ontario disability support program) and to figure out who is in charge of his housing, I have no clue if its the City of Toronto's Housing Connections that are helping him or someone else. And like I said its hard for me to figure out this information because he can't give me straight answers.

He seems legitimately worried but I also feel like this stems from his mental illness and he says he feels like everyone wants him on the streets and that someone is sabotaging his life. How can I get him back on disability and make sure he is housed so that he does not end up on the street? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
