So its not a huge amount of money to some, but it is to me.

I have been told recently that i owe £260 for some equipment hire for a company i used to volunteer for. Turns out they never paid the invoice and they have just been sending solicitor letters to everyone saying "sorry we are bankrupt" unfortunately in this one case the letter doesn't cover this as it is under my name (must of filled it out stupidly in a hurry)

Now the old owner (who i thought was a friend) won't get the money to pay for it as they have non to give. So i am liable to pay money i don't have, if i don't pay by next week i will receive a court summons.

I can prove that it wasn't a personal hire as i have many people and companies that can personally vouch for me, all thats happened is a silly mistake of me using my name instead of the company name.

Any more information i can give to help out would be great, but i am just looking for some advice to approach the situation.
