The best financial planning change that I've ever made was to use Robinhood for my investments. I closed out my Options Express and Sharebuilder accounts since the fees charged for buying and selling stocks & options often cut deeply into any profit I had made. Robinhood doesn't charge you to buy or sell common stocks. It is amazing! They don't trade in options yet, but it seems to be in the works right now.
When you join Robinhood, we'll both get a FREE share of stock like Apple, Ford or Verizon which approximately value at $143.65, $11.47 and $45.91 perspectively. They don't charge you fees to sign up, add/withdraw money, buy/sell stocks and there are no monthly fees. It's the best app out there that lets you trade without fees. Even if you don't use it, you're really getting a chance to receive an expensive stock for free. I've had 3 people signup in which I received 3 free stocks. I got a share of stock in CHK, SIRI, and ODP. These are small cap stocks worth around $4 each, but they were free. You can do the same when you pass this on to your contacts. I don't get any stocks from those that you get to join, but the app gets more exposure which is a good thing since it is such an awesome service. I was hesitant at first about sharing this, but I figure that whoever has a problem receiving free money certainly has a lot more problems than seeing this post.
