I can get about 4 months out of an average cost disposal razor. Better quality blades/ razors I can get six months out of.

My technique is to wash what I am going to shave with soap (not a non soap moisturizing bar), as soon as I get into the shower. Wash everything else that needs washing and the last thing I do is shave normally.

Wet hair is much, much softer than dry hair. The softer the hair, the longer the blade will last.

The longer it's been wet, the softer it will be. Hair that has been washed with soap will have the oils removed and will sofen faster.

I have also noticed the blade stays sharper the dryer it is after shaving. I make sure that the blade is clean with no hairs or shaving foam stuck in the blade. Then shake the razor dry or rub it backwards on a towel.
