Apologies if this isn't the right place to post but I'm kinda in a bind. I sent in my state taxes (NC) and USPS somehow managed to lose them and they weren't delivered. I called up the NC DOR and they asked me to send in a duplicate tax return which I did. USPS now says that has been delivered to the post office and is ready for pickup. Does this mean that the NC DOR will collect my returns from the post office (the delivery address was PO box) or does it mean USPS screwed up again? I'll probably call up the NC DOR on Monday again in case the status doesn't change to ask them if this is normal, but in the event it isn't I want to be prepared to do something before the deadline.
