Getting ready to move to a new city, so I've been looking at water filters and found some good tips in this thread. Leaning towards PUR right now, but I noticed in the FAQs at the bottom of the page here, it says, "Running hot water through the filter will decrease the effectiveness of the filter." WTF? So you're supposed to unscrew the filter and remove it from the faucet every time you want to wash dishes or simply get hot water from the tap?
This seems so ridiculously impractical that I feel like I must be missing something here. Can anyone explain this to me? Is there a filter that you don't have to remove every time you want to run hot water from your sink?
