I prefer pretty hard/cold ice cream and I've gone through 4-5 ice cream scoops in as many years. I've tried different types and different brands, but I must be especially hard on them because they just can't seem to hold up. Segmented ones fail at a joint, in the two cases where I purchased a "dishwasher safe" solid metal one, the dishwasher still ends up disentigrating the coating. I even tried one of those thumb-activated mechanical ones that scrape the inside of of the scoop, but those are laughable in their durability so I don't even consider those types anymore. I don't need any fancy features, just a strong scoop that I can use and then toss in the dishwasher afterwards. Help?
