I received a letter last week on a yellow piece of paper explaining that as part of the transition from Time Warner to Spectrum, they are offering a special promo to existing customers that consists of upgraded services for a lower price. I was fairly skeptical, but I called the number anyway and spoke to a customer service rep.

She checked my account and confirmed it was eligible for an upgrade from 30 to 60Mbps internet, as well the 125-channel cable package (I currently have basic). Just to make sure I wasn't being played, I had her total up my monthly bottom line including all fees and taxes. It came out to about $78/month, whereas currently I'm paying about $115.

She mentioned to me that this was an offer sent out to "all" existing customers, although you may want to take that with a grain of salt.

The fine print: My promo rate is only good for 12 months, and then it increases by $20 for the following 12 months. After that, it returns to standard pricing. Even so, that's a $720 savings over two years.

Also, on the back of the mailer I received, it says the offer is good through 4/13/17. So you may want to get on this ASAP.
