I've had the same Gap Arctic jacket since the late nineties. It has no pullout lining, and a pocket for an older cell phone and a portable CD player. I'll take some wire brush to the Velcro every few years to pull the accumulated fuzz out and occasionally replace a cracked hood pull. A single layer over a t-shirt in it like a button-down means it can handle a lake effect winter in the northeast US. Plus the cd pocket is the perfect size for snacks.
