Hello,

I would really appreciate your help. It would really mean a lot to me. I'm a high school drop out with no GED so it needs to be a job that I can have the chance to get hired. I understand that some companies might hire me but they will take folks with a high school diploma over me if they apply.

I don't think I've ever been tested before as a kid but I'd be very surprised if I didn't have any learning disability's or on the verge of mild retardation. I'm pretty slow. Just to give you an example, my neighbor hired me at his construction company doing manual labor. One day we were putting installation in the walls of a home, in the corner of the house was a small opening making it hard to stuff the installation in with your hands, so one of the workers handed me a stick and said "pack it there", I of course foolishly misunderstood his meaning and proceeded to put the stick in the opening and he chuckled saying "no, pack in the installation with the stick.".

I'm glad I got that job though because now I can say I know what hard work really is. I worked there for three months, 5 days a week , 8 hours a day at least, sometimes 10-12, doing a variety of things getting out of my comfort zone a lot. Most days involved very heavy manual labor. I'm thankful to my neighbor to give me that experience. I wouldn't have gotten the job anywhere else with no credentials. He was very patient with me and there was a lot of things I couldn't work on because I wasn't smart enough but there was always something for me to do and I got a lot of things done and was never lazy.

Thank you so much to everyone who read my post and is willing to help me out. It truly means a lot to me. :)

TLTR: What jobs would you recommend for a low IQ person that has no GED? I don't care if it's part time or full time. I don't care about the pay. I'm pretty socially awkward and I have a difficult time speaking fluently, slurred speech. If I worked at a job like a gas station as a cashier would I have to be good at talking to people? Or just say things like hi, hello, have a nice day?
