So I have 2 electric guitars, one of which I don't play much anymore. Also, both of them have what's called a "floating bridge", which essentially means a whammy bar which can bend both ways. The problem with those are that they can be incredibly hard to keep in tune and changing strings on them is a nightmare. So what I did is found a guitar that's very similar to the one I do play and like a lot, it just doesn't have the floating bridge. However, it's a $900 guitar.
So I took both guitars I have to Guitar Center today and got $350 for one of them. They were only gonna give me $200 for the other and I was like "Hell no, this is a nicer guitar than that." So I put it on Let Go for $550, what it's actually worth and it would get me to the $900. Just in case nobody bites on that, there is another guitar store in town that I can take it to to try and get more than $200.
Other than guitars, I also have my Xbox One that has more or less been a glorified DVD player since I stopped playing Skyrim. I have a handful of games I don't play too, and when I looked up their trade-in value on GameStop's website, I can get like $200 for them all.
Then just a little bit of saving and I'll have 1 really nice guitar that I'll love and get rid of 2 guitars I'm not crazy about anymore and a game system and some games that I don't really play anymore. Plus I'll get rid of a big, bulky 5-guitar stand and just have 2 single-guitar stands (I have an acoustic too).
Feels good to be getting rid of stuff I don't need/use.
