My driveway has some minor undulations, and in one of them, a small sinkhole appeared on Tuesday. The hole in the asphalt is about 2" x 2", and it makes me sick with anxiety to see water draining into it instead of to the drain a foot and a half away. I've tried to get people out for a quote to fix it, but nobody can come for a week, probably because the area has had a lot of rain and lots of people are having this problem.I have no idea how large the excavation is under the asphalt. I have an orange cone out there so that nobody drives over it the weakened area.If I wanted to protect this from further damage - or even fix it - what would I do? I was thinking of getting a pickaxe and trying to tear up a few square feet of driveway, then just filling the excavation with clay or something. I was also thinking of trying to plug up the hole with a thick towel like you would contain a spill if your toilet overflowed (wouldn't be perfect but at least most of the water would stay out).Any idea on what to do here? Every minute water drains into this thing I can see dollars draining away. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2nHSSZ7
