Long story short, I've been off and on homeless since I was 18 and I have mental problems abound which has really kept me from having a stable work history.
However, I want to work a job where I will make a solid income.
As of now, I live with a friend and I don't have any bills to pay, and I have a cell phone that works off wifi. I don't have a vehicle, never owned one. I have a license. I graduated HS, not sure what GPA, but mostly A's and B's. I'm highly intelligent and very computer literate. I went to college (CS) for a couple semesters but ended up dropping out because of a mental break I had (due to life events). I have a little over 6k in student loans that I haven't really been able to make any payments on. According to my credit score, I have a 499. That's pretty bad, but to be expected. I have no credit card debt or any other kind of debt to the best of my knowledge.
I want to find a decent job so that I can make some serious repayment efforts in order to pay off my loans in a few months if possible (paying 90% of what I earn into the loan is a serious option for me). Yeah sure I can dream, right? But since I have no bills I can devote the vast majority of my income to paying off what I owe so I can then save for my future.
I'm a good worker, when I'm emotionally stable (medication is going to help with that soon) and I work hard. I don't mind working potentially dirty or hard jobs. I recently reached out to one of you guys about a potential waste treatment job. He/she is currently writing up some moderate instructions about that but I figured I'd create a post and see all of my options so I have the greatest chance of employ ability. For reference, I live in the state of NY.
Thanks in advance. Sorry if the formatting is awful. I'm new to this sub but just reading some of the advice from other posts has me hoping that a financially secure future isn't just some pipe dream. You guys are great.
edit: Forgot to mention, already been in the military. Air force, to be specific. Got an ELS due to a preexisting medical condition that MEPS found and my waiver magically disappeared. This happened around 2014. For reference, I got a 94 on the ASVAB.
