I'm absolutely sick of being called into the kitchen to open cans. I bought a P-51 can opener (larger version of the P-38) about 12 years ago with my first apartment, and it has not failed me since. I think I paid ~50 cents at the milsurplus store. It's been with me ever since.
My wife cannot, no matter how much teaching figure out how to use it.
So, could someone recommend a long lasting, buy once can opener? A traditional style, with the crank wheel. Whether it be a brand or brand and model. I gave up on this type long ago because they fail after a while for me - they either stop biting or stop turning.
Thanks.
