I read the rules of this subreddit and I believe I'm not breaking any. So here is what happened. Four months ago I found out I was considered an independent contractor when I was informed there was no work for my contract for the next 3 months. When I found that out I asked about taxes and found out I was responsible. So I looked at my savings and thought goodbye. Well no work and living in DC my debt grew and then my transmission on my Jeep went. So I ended up maxing out my credit card and my savings and checking is wiped clean. At the moment I owe over $19,000 to the IRS and I can't pay it. Coupled with 25,000 in credit card debt.
I have no idea what to do. I am scared and have never been in this position before in my life. I can't pay for the IRS payment option. I have looked everywhere and honestly this is my hail mary that someone can guide me somewhere and tell me what needs to be done. I am begging you please give me some guidance here.
