I am going to be offered a job, the start date is close to the time I will be offered my bonus from my current company. Should I wait to secure this bonus before putting in notice?

I don't want to miss out on the bonus because I believe I am entitled to it after working so much OT on salary. Could they take it away if they found out I was leaving?
