We recently bought a home and one of the rooms that we need to repaint was previously painted with some type of stupid textured paint, giving the wall the look and feel of fine grit sandpaper. We've painted the rest of the house grey and this room is a hideous mauve color currently so leaving it as it is isn't an option. I feel like simply painting over the wall isn't going to work, due either to adhesion problems or the texture showing through. Is there some type of primer that can be used on walls like this one? Or will we be forced to sand or skim coat the entire room? Please help! via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2pLg5Mh
