I was looking to get into stocks with a friend. I am already investing in a 401K, Roth, and mutual funds, and think that it would be fun to invest in a company to follow closely.
We were looking to invest small (~$500) through Etrade, or any other online broker, and I am curious if there are any hidden fee’s that I should look out for. I've been hit with hidden fees in other investments, and I would like to know what I am getting into before I join.
Would I need to open a brokerage account in order to trade stocks through an online broker? - I'm seeing fee's for closing brokerage accounts (around $75), am I missing something?
Closing account fees? Withdrawl fees? Inactivity fees? Anything else that could sneak up?
