My house has an addition, so there are two drain vents on the roof. The main one is made of metal (iron?) and the one on the addition from PVC.My kitchen sink has been draining more and more slowly over the past few years. I had been dumping Drano and the like (Pequa seems to work best) but have been suspecting a venting problem. Recently, the sink has been gurgling very consistently every time we run water. I got an auger but it didn't help. I also tried the trick with the hose and the high-pressure attachment.Because we used to have an oak tree hanging over the house and plenty of trees still around, I wonder if there might just be leaves stuck in both vents, which are not covered. So my question is whether it would hurt to just try Drano or baking powder plus vinegar, in either the PVC or iron pipes (not at the same time, of course). For the baking powder plus vinegar, I'd chase it with water after a few minutes to dilute the acid.Thanks. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2ooo5oJ
