Hi, I'm not a frequent frugaler, so I'm not sure if this is a widely known tip or not.
But when I go to the store, I buy the things that people have rudely opened or mangled. The product itself is fine, but the packaging isn't pretty. I ask the check out clerk if they can offer a discount since the item is "damaged". They usually will honor a 25-50% discount.
