"Thanks my name is Scott Evans. Am buying this for my son as a gift and don't want him to know about it as I am not in the town at the moment, actually am in the Army base as I am 1SG (E-8) and have been in camp base its being a while. I would have loved to call you but We are not allow to make or receive calls frequently for security reasons our only major means of communication to the outside world is through the internet.

So can you assure me I will not be disappointed buying this from you? I have a mover that will come for pickup once payment clears.

Whats its condition and final price, any damages?

Are you the original owner and what is your reason for selling? How can I trust you with my money? Do you have a verified account with PayPal?

Looking forward to read back from you.

Scott"

My boyfriend originally received a text from "Scott's" "wife", asking him to email her husband. Obviously the idea that he's willing to buy sight unseen and he can't actually call him are red flags. The grammar is also pretty terrible which might just mean that English is not his first language but "Scott Evans" is a pretty generic North American/English name. I'm about 92% sure it's scam but would like some input from others who may have encountered the same thing.

We are located in Canada.

Edit: thanks for the advice, everyone. Now that we're sure it's a scam, we'll have some fun with it.
