Hello. I am finishing my basement and would like to put some kind of sound proofing in the ceiling so I do not hear the kids jumping around, yelling like they normally do, on the floor above. The problem is the basement is less than 8 feet high, so I want to maximize as much height as possible.I think it is a no brainer to use Roxul SafeNSound; what else can I do? I was going to screw drywall directly into the floor joists in order to maximize the height, but then I was reading about using resilient channels between the joists and the drywall to reduce the sound vibration. Is that worth it? Is there anything else I could do to minimize sound? Thanks! via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2p0hxtK
