I love reading about other people's goals and how they plan to or already have achieved them. So feel free to share your own goals also in your answers. My goals as of right now (they have VERY recently been changed because I just started a new job, started contributing to a 403b through there, and am now looking at getting a Roth started here in the next week or so):

By the end of 2017: -Have between $19,000-20,000 saved for a house downpayment -Have $11,000 into my Roth Ira (maxed for 2016 if i make it in time, and maxed for 2017)

By end of 2018: -Roughly $33,000-34,000 for down payment -Max out Roth again at $16,500

By end of 2019: -$53,000 for down payment -$22,000 in Roth

By end of 2020: -Between $62,000-63,000 for down payment -$27,500 in Roth

By end of 2021: -About $67,000 for down payment (whatever left over money I have will be going toward this so hopefully it will be more by then) -And (maxed out again) $33,000 into Roth

This is my rough Five Year Plan. By the end of 2021, I will have just turned 25, my daughter would be 7 1/2. Then we can start really looking for a house and I'd like to purchase that sometime during 2021, before I turn 26. Of course, a lot can happen in that time frame and I don't expect my goals to remain concrete throughout, but I expect that, if they are vastly different from these projections, it will be because I was able to save more, not less. (Knock on wood). Anybody have any advice on saving/retirement accounts/saving for a house? How did you go about saving for a home and splitting that between retirement saving?
