My wife and I (both ~30 years old) are expecting our first child in the next couple months. Have never had life insurance but feel it would be a good idea now. But we're not sure what type to get.. Hoping for suggestions if possible.
Debt: Mortgage with $180k remaining
Income: ~$75k/year me ~$40k/year her
Savings: About $60k in 401ks or iras About $30k savings
Neither has family nearby so if something were to happen to either of us, the other would probably sell the house (valued around $270k) and move to a different state near family. More likely for her to move than me I suppose.
Anyways... What type of life insurance makes sense for our situation?
