So I work in the restaurant of a nice hotel, and it was about 20 minutes past closing (which is midnight). I had been running around on my feet for 7 hours, and I just wanted to go home. However, the Beach Boys are staying at the hotel and were drinking in the lounge so I was stuck. They finally ask for the check and in my tiredness I mess up splitting the check (and forgot to take off an item I rang in on accident). One of their wives went over the check every time to make sure everything was in order (I messed it up twice). It wasn't a large bill and obviously they can afford this, but it reminded me of that saying that haunts rappers and pro athletes. You don't stay a millionaire very long if you give up the habits that helped make you a millionaire. Even though it wouldn't effect them at all, not taking the time can be an expensive habit which i have been guilty of. Seeing successful people being financially responsible felt good, even if I felt really bad about messing up their bill. We joked about me needing to go home because I obviously wasn't capable of doing by job so all is well that ends well. "You won't stay wealthy if you don't pay attention to how you spend your wealth" TLDR: messed up the beach boys bill, they took the time to make sure it was right even though they can afford to not care.
